Brian's pink board (a loaner from Suzie). Yes, that's snow in the background from Friday! Air temp at beginning of the race was 44 degrees, water temp was 47 degrees, and this is right after the dense fog burned off...
Cary and 19 foot unlimited.
Cary taking second place!
Cary and all the kids, post race.
Mike Penwarden (I talked him into racing with us last night and he rallied), Me, Cary.
Fun after the race...the cousins dug in the sand, played on the beach, ran on the playground and cruised the lake in a paddleboat!

Boys Weekend
Dave, Andy, Brian and I headed down to Joshua Tree National Park last weekend. Had a great time, hiked a ton and had some laughs...always refreshing to see your best friends.
Sunset from the back yard.
Brian and I as the eyes of "Skull Rock."
Top of Mt. Ryan...trailhead sign said "4-mile, strenuous 2-3 hour hike..", we took that as a challenge and made it up in less than an hour and down in less than half-an-hour (running part way up and most of the way down which explains my shinsplints).
Pretty incredible (climbable) landscape all around, this is in "Hidden Valley."
After hiking around the park from 6am-2pm, we headed out to some federal land with the .357 and .40 for some fun.

Jillian's first book
Jillian just read "Imogene's Antlers" to the whole family after
dinner. While she used to memorize books and tell us the story, she
READ this one to us. Awsome.

Happy Mothers Day!
Here is the Mothers Day menu, place your order. After brunch we will
do some sewing at the girl's request. Then, hopefully the park if it
doesn't snow/rain.

Finally...
The gate has needed to be replaced for some time. Finally the wind last week, gusting to 90 reportedly, made me do it. Honestly, it blew all night and i was concerned for the roof tiles.
Before....
AFTER!
For those of you considering this as a solo job, my recommendation is to enlist an extra set of hands...especially if it's blowing 25 mph when you are hanging the panels (with 36 square feet of surface area and gusting winds, the shims to hold it in place while you hold it with one hand and take the measurements and mark the drill holds the other is a bit tricky).
Best comment today? Jillian: "let's use the new gate...it works perfectly."
So who's in for a painting party? Seeing as I really need to paint front/back of the whole perimeter I could use some moral support!
Kidding, weather is perfect and enjoying being outside...and nothing needs to be held and measured/installed with painting!
